PENTICTON, B.C. — Cooper was supposed to be getting a second chance at a good home.
Instead, he’s been stolen.
He was one of 14 dogs, including four puppies, who were seized from a Vernon home as part of an animal cruelty investigation.
Cooper, a one year old carlin pinscher, was snatched sometime last night from the Penticton SPCA. It was his first night at the shelter.
“We’re just really devastated,” says Shelter Manager Corinne Ross. “We want to know where he is. If someone has the capacity to steal a dog from a shelter, there’s no knowing what their intentions are.”
Ross says someone had taken bolt cutters and cut through the chain link fence.
Cooper is black and tan in colour and weighs just under 10 pounds. He also has a tattoo on his right ear.
He was just neutered on Tuesday and the SPCA are extremely concerned for his health.
Anyone with details on Cooper’s disappearance is asked to contact the RCMP or the Penticton shelter at (250) 493—0136.
