Emily Soares was just three years old when a lump on her neck turned into a devastating diagnosis.
Doctors at Winnipeg’s Health Sciences Centre found cancerous tumours in multiple places throughout her body.
After nine rounds of chemotherapy, radiation and a battery of other treatment, the shy little girl has a lot to celebrate.
Her latest round of followup tests show that Emily has no active cancer and is in remission.
The next five years will include more tests, but right now this positive news is what the Soares family is focussing on, and letting others know how thankful they are for all the support and medical help they received.
