PENTICTON B.C. — It’s been a tough week for the owners of Boyd Autobody and Glass in Penticton. The repair shop has been the target of three escalating criminal attacks since Monday.
The latest happened early Friday morning, when a car inside the shop was torched. Fire officials got the call just before 5 a.m. and believe the blaze is suspicious.
“When crews gained access to shop they found the car fully engulfed in flames,” says Penticton fire chief, Wayne Williams. “Crews were able to confine the fire to one corner of the building but the smoke damage inside is considerable.”
Boyd Autobody owner, Methal Abougoush, says he wasn’t shocked when he got the call about the fire because of two incidents earlier in the week. Someone attempted to light fireworks inside the shop Monday and someone smashed a windows Wednesday.
RCMP are investigating. Abougoush says he has handed over surveillance footage to police.
