AHS announces clinic locations ahead of flu immunization season

Ontario is toughening up vaccine requirements for students.

EDMONTON — With flu season right around the corner, vaccination clinics will be opening in Alberta in a couple of weeks.

On Wednesday, Alberta Health Services released a list of clinic locations and schedules on its website, in order to get Albertans prepared.

The vaccine is free for Albertans over the age of six months.

Last flu season, mass immunization clinics were set up across the province after an outbreak was declared.

AHS says the vaccine is the best way to prevent influenza, but there are other precautions you can take such as washing your hands.

Officials expect it to be an average flu season – meaning a significant amount of the disease in the community.
