Wednesday October 1st on The Morning News

We’ll continue to watch events at the Legislative Assembly closely Wednesday morning. Our reporter Ray Bradshaw will be standing by if debate on the Liberal government’s controversial Health Authorities Act continues into the morning.

At 6:45 we’ll talk to a member of a new panel put together to help government decide how to deal with a growing wait list for autism treatment. Patricia Murray is a special advisor with the Department of Health and Wellness and will serve on the expert panel. She stops by the red table to tell us more about this issue and what she expects from the panel.

At 7:15 Nova Scotia Health Minister Leo Glavine will stop by to talk about the new legislation introduced at Province House earlier this week.  Its hoped the Health Authorities Act will streamline bargaining to reduce the number of times it negotiates new collective agreements with its unions. The shift is controversial among union members and labour supporters.
