MONTREAL — Colour, comic books and costumes were on display as the Montreal Comiccon kicked off Friday.
A bevy of pop culture heavyweights are on the guest list including wrestler Hulk Hogan, the cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation, Stephen Amell from the Arrow and Norman Reedus and Emily Kinney from the zombie laden show The Walking Dead.
On day one of the convention’s ninth year, fans were chomping at the bit to see their favourite stars.

“I love the energy here,” said repeat Comiccon participant David Nurse. ” I love the atmosphere, the celebrities from when I was a child. It’s amazing.”
The popular event runs September 12 to the 14 at the Palais des Congres.
