CALGARY- Organic Traditions brand Sprouted Chia & Flax Seed Powder has been recalled due to possible salmonella concerns.
According to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, people should not consume any of the product sold in the 227 g packages with the codes:
- AHM/SFCB19014
- AHM621140814N
- AHM621140815D
- AHM621140825D
454 g packages with the codes:
- AHM/SFCB19014
- AHM547140815D
- AHM547140825D
The CFIA says recalled products should either be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased. Food contaminated with salmonella may not look or smell spoiled, but can still make you sick. Young children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with compromised immune system are particularly vulnerable.
So far there have been no reported illnesses associated with these products.
