A man is in hospital after being hit by a freight train in Hamilton.
Firefighters and paramedics were called to the train tracks between Wentworth Street and Victoria Avenue just before 3 a.m. Wednesday where the man was found pinned under the train.

He’s in critical condition at Hamilton General Hospital.
Hamilton police say the 44-car westbound train will be held up for some time and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
A collision reconstruction team has been sent to the scene for the investigation.
