Summer will stick around for one more day in Southern Alberta before an intense cold front moves through on Monday.

In a special weather statement issued for the City of Calgary, Environment Canada said the cold front is currently producing rain over Northern Alberta including Grande Prairie, High Prairie, Slave Lake, Whitecourt and Peace River.

Global News Weather Specialist Gemma Lynne Stroobant  says for many areas of Western Alberta, an unseasonably cold Arctic airmass will cause the rain to change to snow tomorrow afternoon.

More than  5 centimetres is possible for Calgary, Airdrie, Cochrane, Olds, Sundre, Banff National Park, Hinton, Grande Cache, Kananaskis, Canmore, Nordegg, Okotoks, High River, Claresholm, Rocky Mountain House, Caroline, Whitecourt, Edson, Fox Creek and Swan Hills.
