A call to extend Cavendish boulevard

MONTREAL – It’s a trend that has been going on all summer, but it seems the ice bucket challenge is far from over.

Three of Quebec’ politicians – Côte Saint-Luc mayor Anthony Housefather, Hampstead mayor William Steinberg and D’Arcy McGee MNA for Quebec’s Liberal Party David Birnbaum – took the plunge together to bring awareness to the deadly disease.

The politicians also took the opportunity to speak about another project close to their hearts, the extension of Cavendish boulevard.

“We thought it might be fun to attach this very worthy cause of ALS to another cause that our government is very sensitive to, which is the importance of seeing the extension of Cavendish boulevard,” Birnbaum told Global News.

The goal of the extension project is to create a north-south link from the borough of Côte Saint-Luc to Ville Saint-Laurent as well as creating an east-west link to Décarie boulevard in order to improve traffic in the area.
