SASKATOON – Fireworks are set to explode over downtown Saskatoon as the PotashCorp Fireworks Festival takes place Friday and Saturday.
Two teams are taking part this year – Team Canada presented by Garden City Display Fireworks on Friday and Team China presented by Dancing Fireworks on Saturday.
Both pyrotechnic shows are choreographed and the prime viewing areas are from River Landing and Rotary Park.
Along with the fireworks, live shows will be taking place starting at 5 p.m. each day at the amphitheatre at River Landing and also in Rotary Park until the fireworks start.

There are traffic restrictions in place. Broadway Bridge will be closed to all foot and vehicle traffic from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. both days as that is where the fireworks will be launched.
The Saskatoon Fire Department will be on the South Saskatchewan River to enforce boating restrictions in the area.
Police say people attending the festival should give themselves extra time to get to the event.
