GRANBY – Two women were killed in a multiple-vehicle accident near Granby on Saturday evening. Three more people were injured but are expected to recover.
The accident took place on highway 10 westbound around 7:30 p.m. when seven vehicles, including a semi-trailer truck, collided in a construction zone.
The vehicles involved were either rolling very slowly, or were completely stopped.
The accident caused the temporary closure of the affected section of highway 10 west until 4:40 a.m. on Sunday.
An investigation is underway into the cause of the accident.
The driver of the truck has already been questioned by authorities, but a Sûreté du Québec spokesperson told Global News that they have no reason to believe that a criminal act was involved.
