Okanagan Under Severe Thunderstorm Watch

KELOWNA – The Okanagan valley may be hit with a severe thunder and rain storm Tuesday afternoon.

Environment Canada Meteorologist Andre Besson says a broad upper low moving towards the Oregon Coast will destabilize the air mass over our region.

Besson says the storm could include a lot of rain–possibly 20 millimeters per hour.

Hail is also expected.

Environment Canada is predicting winds gusting up to 70 kilometers an hour.

The storm is expected to hit late in the afternoon and could last well into the night.
