MONTREAL — A 23-year-old driver was arrested after a high-speed police chase early Friday morning in the West Island.
After police tried to pull over the driver for speeding over 150 km/hour along Highway 20 West near St. Jean Boulevard in Pointe-Claire at around 3 a.m., he took them along a five-minute chase that ended on Pine Street in Beaconsfield.
The driver’s car came to a sudden stop, hitting two police cruisers. Montreal police said that the vehicles were only lightly damaged.
The suspect is expected to face charges, including driving under the influence.
