Governor General cancels 3-day visit to New Brunswick due to illness

OTTAWA – Gov. Gen. David Johnston has cancelled a scheduled three day visit to New Brunswick due to illness.

A short news release from Rideau Hall says Johnston has the flu virus.

Johnston was to meet with Premier David Alward and visit several cities and towns including Saint John, Fredericton and Moncton.

He was also scheduled to attend the opening ceremonies of the World Acadian Congress in Edmundston on Friday.
