Larry MacDougal / The Canadian Press

Police are investigating the circumstances around a car rolling over on Granville Street early this morning.

Just before 7 a.m. a red Oldsmobile travelling south on Granville Street near 38th Avenue hit a curb, collided with a hedge and rolled onto its side.

The driver, a 72-year-old Vancouver man was rushed to the hospital and later pronounced dead.

No one else was in the car with the victim and no other vehicles were involved in the collision.

The investigation is still in the early stages but police are looking into the possibility that that driver had gone into medical distress before the accident.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident to call the VPD Collision Investigation Unit.
