And they lived “app-ily” ever after

REGINA – It used to be when a man wanted to pop the question, he got down on one knee. Now, a local app developer has taken the marriage proposal into the modern age.

Regina software developer, David Kossatz wanted to propose to his girlfriend in January, but wasn’t sure how to do it.  Eventually, he came up with the idea for a marriage proposal android app. It took his now-fiancee through nine levels, with each level posting a clue on her Facebook wall.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

The last level led her to their garage, where he spelled out “will you marry me?” in tea light candles.

“I think the only romantic thing was the ending with the tea light candles and me being on one knee and everything, but the whole app aspect of it, I just had fun with it. I actually do like learning new things (like that). So I thought it was fun,” Kossatz said.

He added he does not have plans to market the app at this point. The happy couple plans to tie the knot in January 2016.
