WINNIPEG – Shell gave away gas at its 690 Sterling Lyon Parkway station from 9-10:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Lineups started building as soon as the location was announced at 8:30 a.m.

By the time staff started pumping the free gas, there were hundreds of cars lined up in the Ikea parking lot.
Shell said it was giving away up to $100 free gas per vehicle to show appreciation for its customers ahead of the August long weekend.
