TORONTO — British pop act One Direction is coming to a theatre near you.
One Direction: Where We Are – The Concert Film will run for one weekend only — Oct. 11 and 12 — at more than 3,000 cinemas around the world.
“If you haven’t had a chance to come see us at our Where We Are stadium tour this year, or you simply just want to relive it again, we’ve got a very, very special announcement for you,” said singer Niall Horan in a video announcement.
The movie will be released on DVD on Dec. 1.
The performance portions of the concert film were shot at San Siro stadium in Milan, Italy. The film will also include interviews and behind-the-scenes footage.
One Direction kicks off its Where We Are tour of the U.S. and Canada on Aug. 1 at the Rogers Centre in Toronto. It is the only scheduled Canadian date.
The group’s 3D film One Direction: This is Us, released last August, has earned $68.5 million worldwide.
