UPDATE: Missing Australian tourist found

UPDATE: North Shore Rescue says the missing Australian tourist has been located. Field teams are standing down and returning to base.

Search and rescue crews are looking for a missing 53-year-old male hiker in the Lynn Canyon area.

Curtis Jones with North Shore Rescue told Global News the man whose first name is Rick and his wife went hiking in Lynn Canyon this morning.

They split up and the man was supposed to go to a view point, but never showed up.

Air search and ground search are currently ongoing.

The man is described as Australian, 5 feet 11, 150 pounds, with dark hair with some grey.

He was wearing light brown pants, black shirt under blue long sleeve and a backpack with yellow trim.

He was last seen near Lynn Canyon suspension bridge.

Anyone who may have seen him or think you have seen him, is asked to call 911 immediately.
