The foundation associated with the private girls’ school donated the remainder of its money to various community organizations across the city.

Concordia University got the bulk of the money. It will receive $200,000 for a scholarship and bursary fund. Female Concordia students in any discipline who are alumnae and their family members are eligible to receive a scholarship.

Both the Family Resource Centre and the Generations Foundation, which distributes meals to students, received $20,000 for their respective programs.

It was a bitter sweet ceremony for those involved; the  high school closes its doors at the end of the school year.

“It’s a bit devastating for us, but to know that the money is going back into the community, that’s definitely a positive,” explains the President of the Queen of Angels foundation, Jennifer Frezza.
