IN PHOTOS: Tornado causes massive damage in Angus, Ont.

TORONTO – The community of Angus, Ont. is currently under a state of emergency after a tornado touched down Tuesday night, tearing up fences and shearing off the tops of some homes.

Police said at least 20 to 30 homes sustained “significant damage” in the community about 100 kilometres north of Toronto, but residents said there was widespread relief that no one appeared to have been badly hurt in the severe storm.

The damaged homes were in a relatively new subdivision in the south end of Angus.
