Victim in Vancouver’s 7th homicide of the year identified

Vancouver Police are investigating the city’s seventh homicide of the year.

At around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 7 police responded to reports of shots fired at a home in East Vancouver.

When they arrived to the home on Gladstone St., they found a male suffering from gunshot injuries at the entrance of the home. By the time paramedics arrived, the 33-year-old Vancouver resident was pronounced dead.

He has been identified as Thanh Tung Tran of Vancouver.

“The man is a resident of the home. This is where he lives and I can’t provide any additional details on if there were others at the home at this point,” says Constable Brian Montague with Vancouver police.

Vancouver police are confident the attack was targeted, but they would not say whether the victim or suspect was known to police.
