Over 1,000 people are expected to turn out for a rally Saturday against Monsanto in Vancouver.
The “March Against Monsanto” kicked off at 10 a.m. at the Vancouver Art Gallery.
March organizer Lilly Dion says the march is a community awareness event to raise awareness about GMO foods and agricultural chemicals.
“A lot of people don’t know how harmful these chemicals really are. The more people that know, the more people start to question things and do their own research.”
Vancouver Police will block off several streets surrounding the Art Gallery for marchers to proceed downtown.
