WATCH: Vernon woman pleads for return of ashes

VERNON — A Vernon woman is pleading for a thief or thieves to have a heart .

Her home was broken into Monday afternoon, and while there were significant thefts of electronics along with cash and jewelry something else went as well — a royal blue velour bag with a box inside containing the victim’s mother’s ashes.

Attached to the bag, a smaller mesh bag with a wedding ring and band.

The victim is making a public appeal to the person who stole the ashes to please return them by placing them in a public place with a note so they could be reunited with the owner.
