WINNIPEG – Missing Ontarian Brandon Wheeler, whose car was found in Winnipeg, is now wanted on charges of sexual assault, police say.
Wheeler, 30, went missing from Windsor, Ont., on April 15. He didn’t show up for work and “may be under distress,” Windsor police said.
His vehicle was described as a 2010 Jeep Wrangler with Ontario plates ALPD 512.
Winnipeg police found Wheeler’s Jeep in West End Winnipeg, a Friday news release said. Its vehicle identification tag and licence plates had been removed.
Windsor police on Wednesday released information that Wheeler was wanted on a Canada-wide arrest warrant for sexual assault.
Wheeler is described as white, six-foot-four, thin and muscular with a tattoo on his right arm that says “My generation live forever.” He usually wears a leather jacket, T-shirt, jeans, wire-rimmed glasses and hoop earrings.
Police found information about staying at hostels in Canada in Wheeler’s car.
Anyone with information about where he is should call Windsor police at 519-255-6700 ext. 4830 or Ontario Crime Stoppers at 519-258-8477.
