WATCH: Historic O’Keefe Ranch church needs facelift

NEAR VERNON, B.C. – The Okanagan’s oldest standing church is now 125 years old and in much need of a facelift.

St. Anne’s Church was built by the ranch founder Cornelius O’Keefe in 1889 with donations from the Okanagan’s most prominent citizens of the day, including Bernard Lequime, the founder of Kelowna.

Restoration work is estimated to cost $100,000. And while the federal government is pitching in, the society that runs the ranch must match the donation to release the funds.

A fundraising barn dance will be held at the ranch near Vernon. Tickets can be purchased on line or by phone at www.okeeferanch.ca
