Monday May 5th  on The Morning News:

We get things started at 6:45 with another instalLment of “Visit with a Vet”. This week Jill and Dr. Eric Carnegy talks about the importance of getting your pet prepared for the return of ticks and fleas now that the warmer weather is finally returning!

To mark Music Monday, Crystal will talk with music educator Eric Favaro at 7:15. He’s devoted his career to helping teachers gain a better understanding of the importance of an education in and through the arts. Favaro will be a part of a simultaneous nation-wide sing-along to raise awareness about the importance of music in the classroom.

At 7:45 we’ll catch up with former NHLer turned author Terry Ryan to talk about his new book “Tales Of A First Round Nothing- My Life as an NHL footnote.” The Newfoundlander was drafted 8th overall in 1995 by The Montreal Canadiens. He ended up playing 8 career games with 0 goals and 0 assists but a book’s worth of stories.

Crystal will get some running tips from Canadian Olympic athlete Simon Whitfield at 8:15. He’ll give us some tips on how to warm up before going on a big run, great for those training for the upcoming Bluenose Marathon. As well he’ll give Crystal some nutrition advice on the best foods that can help to keep you going through a long run.

Big Brother Canada alum Emmet Blois will stop by the red table at 8:45 to talk with Paul about his recent trip to the South Africa version of Big Brother!! Emmett – who came in third in last year’s Canadian edition, stayed for a week and was asked to stir up trouble for the rest of the cast. We’ll find out exactly what he got up to!
