Anthem singer fails at ‘O Canada’ before Habs-Lightning game, gets roasted on Twitter

ABOVE: Take a listen to Max DeFrancesco’s version of “O Canada” and judge for yourself

TORONTO – If you happen to be the person who sang the Canadian national anthem at the Habs-Lightning game last night in Tampa, you probably shouldn’t look at Twitter this morning.

Game 1 of the NHL playoff series between the Montreal Canadiens and the Tampa Bay Lightning began on a sour note after Max DeFrancesco butchered “O Canada.”

The aspiring opera singer attempted to sing the anthem in both French and English, singing off-key for almost the entire song.

Clearly, Canadian social media users were not impressed with DeFrancesco’s rendition as he was torn apart on Twitter Wednesday night.
