FREDERICTON – Homes and businesses are flooded in parts of New Brunswick and some roads are closed as rivers break their banks.
In the village of Sussex Corner, Mayor Steven Gillies says boats were used to get some stranded people out of their homes.

He says 120 homes and 10 businesses were flooded but no one was in danger.
In the neighbouring town of Sussex, Mayor Marc Thorne says dozens of homes were flooded after Trout Creek spilled its banks..
Emergency crews escorted people from their homes because of the strength of the currents.
In Woodstock, a boil-water order was issued after a large ice jam took out several power poles and the electrical system for the town’s water supply.
The town’s chief administrative officer, Ken Harding, says by mid-morning crews were using a diesel pump to restore the water supply.
But Harding expects it will be days before it’s safe for N-B Power crews to restore the power to the water supply equipment.
