On Friday’s Morning News: Country artist Jess Moskaluke, more on the Heartbleed bug and the Girl Guide cookie drive.
Jess Moskaluke performs ‘Cheap Wine and Cigarettes’
Wow. That’s really the only word for it.
When Jessica (Kent) asked me “How old is she?” I shrugged and kept working on my Sudoku – it wasn’t until Kenter mentioned that she was merely 19 that my attention was grasped.
She’s 19, and nominated for performer of the year at the SCMAs. She’s one of those youths who made Lisa Dutton and I feel terrible about ourselves for how talented she is, but during the interview, I didn’t even notice – she has the humility of a Saskatchewan girl, that’s for certain, which makes her talent all the more appreciable.
Keep an eye on her moving forward. Or an ear, ‘cause, y’know, musician.
Kevin speaks with College Mobile CEO Chad Jones about the dangers of the Heartbleed bug
CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS.
I don’t find it all that hard to believe that 20 per cent of the internet, including major facets like Yahoo and Google, were afflicted by this bug.
I don’t find it hard to believe because the internet’s just too darned big. We’re all too darned plugged in, and we can help ourselves by simply changing up the passwords.
Jessica learns more about Girl Guide cookie drive happening around Saskatoon
These two are just the cutest. Samantha is in the Sparks program and Naomi is in the Girl Guides program, both a part of Girl Guides Canada.
They’ve been out selling cookies all week to raise money for badges, summer camp and activities within the program. This Saturday, the group will be set up at Co-op and Sears locations around the city selling these cookies, so if you missed them at your door, you still have a chance to indulge. The vanilla are my favourite!
Samantha gave us a very thorough demonstration of how to make a banana boat (one of their campsite activities). Makes sure to check out the interview… and just a warning, they’re adorable.
