A convicted sex offender known as the ‘swirly face pedophile’ has had his request for bail denied.
He spent five years in a Thai jail for sexually abusing children and returned to Canada in 2012.
He was placed under strict conditions to protect children here, and last year pleaded guilty to violating one of them.
Some of the new charges are being prosecuted under a so-called “sex tourism law” which allows Canadian authorities to investigate offences occurring by citizens abroad.
