Fog creates poor visibility in southern Manitoba

WINNIPEG – Extensive fog across parts of southern Manitoba prompted a weather warning from Environment Canada on Wednesday morning.

Visibility of near or less than 400 metres was reported in Winnipeg, Brandon, east to the Ontario border and north into the Interlake. The warning was lifted at 10:25 a.m.

Melting snow, night cooling and light winds were blamed for the fog.

The warning was in effect for:

  • Winnipeg
  • Brandon, Carberry, Treherne
  • Portage la Prairie, Headingley, Brunkild, Carman
  • Selkirk, Gimli, Stonewall, Woodlands, Eriksdale
  • Steinbach, St. Adolphe, Dominion City, Vita, Richer
  • Morden, Winkler, Altona, Emerson, Morris
  • Arborg, Hecla, Fisher River, Gypsumville, Ashern
  • Bissett, Nopiming Provincial Park, Pine Falls
  • Dugald, Beausejour, Grand Beach
  • Killarney, Pilot Mound, Manitou
  • Sprague, Northwest Angle Provincial Forest
  • Whiteshell, Lac du Bonnet, Pinawa
