UPDATE: Power restored after vehicle collision causes outage

SASKATOON – There was a power outage in Saskatoon’s Sutherland neighbourhood after a vehicle collision on Sunday morning.

Around 7:30 a.m., a vehicle struck a power pole in the 100-block of 111th Street West. There were no injuries and police are investigating the crash.

The collision resulted in a temporary disruption of electrical service in the Sutherland and Sutherland Industrial neighbourhoods.

At least 1,300 homes and businesses were left without power.

As of 3:45 p.m., all customers’ power had been restored.

Saskatoon Light & Power (SL&P) electrical crews had to replace an entire power pole.
