CALGARY – A young boy was rushed to hospital on Thursday after he was struck by a vehicle in the city’s northwest.
EMS responded to Kincora Glen Green N.W. shortly after 4 p.m.
The seven-year-old boy was initially taken to the Alberta Children’s Hospital with life-threatening head injuries. He has since been upgraded to stable condition.
Police say the child had got off a school bus and was crossing the street to go to a relative’s car when he was hit.
A man driving a small car had slowed to pass the stopped bus, but couldn’t stop in time.
It’s not illegal for a car to pass a school bus in the city when its lights are flashing.
Police say the boy was not in a marked crosswalk when he was hit.
