WATCH: Manure fouls Cherryville drinking water

CHERRYVILLE — Residents in the community of Cherryville, east of Vernon, are being warned about the safety of their water.

In some homes, tap water now looks more like coffee.

It appears melting snow is mixing with manure from a cow pasture into local wells, and a nearby creek that provides water to Cherryville Elementary.

Staff and students are being told to use bottled water.

The Interior Health Authority will be back on site today for more testing.

Blaine Gaffney reports.
