TORONTO – The Yonge-University-Spadina line was closed for a short time Monday after a person in a scooter accidentally rolled it onto the tracks.

The person wasn’t injured during their fall.

TTC spokesperson Brad Ross told Global News that the train operator saw the person on the track and cut power to the train, keeping it from hitting the person.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

After that, TTC personnel cleared the station so emergency responders could help the person.

The afternoon commute was temporarily slowed as a result as the TTC closed the Yonge-University-Spadina line between Yonge-Bloor and Lawrence.

The closure lasted for less than 20 minutes.
