An inquest is scheduled to begin today in the deaths of three inmates at Mountain Institution in Agassiz.
They died while in the segregation unit at the medium security facility between July 2012 and February 2013.

The coroner says there were enough similarities between the deaths to warrant a single inquest.
The dead include Warren Robert Allen, a former Mountie in Alberta. He was convicted of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy and possessing child pornography.
The other men were serving sentences for murder, theft and assault.
