Calgary Police arrest man wanted in Bankview murder

CALGARY – Police have arrested a man wanted in connection to a murder in Bankview two years ago.

On Jan. 25, 2012, emergency crews rushed to the 2100 block of 16 St. S.W. after a man was seen laying on the ground outside a home.

He was transported to hospital in serious, life-threatening condition, but died the next day.

Police identified the victim as 20-year-old Gatleak Thor Metkurjock, and an investigation determined he died from blunt force trauma.

Officers issued a warrant for 21-year-old Anthony Ambrose Brothers on Wednesday, and say he was arrested without incident in Gleichen on Thursday night.

Police are making arrangements to transport Brothers to Calgary, where charges will be formally laid.

Police had previously arrested another young man in connection with the case. He has been charged with second-degree murder.
