Canadian figure skating pairs in fifth and sixth place after short program

Canadian figure skating pair Meagan Duhamel and Eric Radford got 5th place in the short program in Sochi.

They scored 72.21, putting them just ahead of fellow Canadians Kirsten Moore-Towers and Dylan Moscovitch, who received 70.92.

Duhamel and Radford came in second in the team pairs short program and received silver medals along with Moore-Towers and Moscovitch, who also finished second in their skate.

Paige Lawrence and Rudi Sweigers are in 13th place, with a score of 58.97.

Russians Tatiana Volosozhar and Maxim Trankov lead the pairs competition for now, with a score of 84.17.

All Canadian skaters qualified for the free skate, which takes place Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 10:45 a.m. Eastern Time (7:45 a.m. Pacific).
