WINNIPEG – Professors at the University of Winnipeg have voted in favour of strike action.
The faculty association released the results of its strike vote late Tuesday, saying 92 per cent voted in favour of strike action.
No one will be walking a picket line right away, however. Members are to meet Wednesday to discuss a strike deadline.
The University of Winnipeg Faculty Association said it’s still committed to reaching a settlement with the university if possible, and mediated talks are set to begin Thursday.
The union said 73 per cent of 345 eligible members (regular, full-time academic staff) participated in the strike vote.
