SASKATOON – Saskatchewan is no longer under any wind chill warning on Monday.
Most of central and southern Saskatchewan experienced wind chills between minus 40 and minus 50 Monday morning as brisk northwest winds combined with temperatures near or below minus 30.
Environment Canada said wind chills in the warned areas were expected to remain colder than the minus 40 warning threshold through the noon hour before ending this afternoon.
EC says a more significant warming is expected by mid- to late-week across southern Saskatchewan.
The extreme wind chill caused school bus cancellations for both Saskatoon public and Catholic school divisions.
Prairie Spirit School Division and Sun West School Division buses were also cancelled due to high wind chill.
