WATCH: Sally Ann rings donation alarm bells

KELOWNA – As the clock ticks down to Christmas Day, time is running out for the Salvation Army in the Okanagan to reach its Christmas Campaign fund raising goals.

The agency in all three of the valley’s major cities reports considerable shortfalls this season in meeting their financial requirements for various programs and services throughout the year.

In Kelowna, the Sally Ann is endeavouring to collect $700,000.

So far, $375,000 has been received.

The target in Vernon is $461,000 with $215,000 having been donated.

And in Penticton, the charitable organization is about $100,000 short of its $300,000 goal.

Major Ron Cartmell of the Kelowna Salvation Army says “We are grateful for the support of the community, we don’t take that for granted, but we really do need your help.”
