ABOVE: KUTV’s Chris Miller has more on the “phantom Buick”
At first glance, it may not seem that strange: a tan Buick LeSabre, heading down a Utah interstate in the middle of a blinding snowstorm.
But a second glance may cause you to do a double-take, as the car presses forward down the highway without a driver behind the wheel.
It gets even better – the car horn is blaring the entire time, as the car continues on a remarkably straight course.
Thomas Goodman is the man who shot this remarkable footage.
Before he took note of the phantom Buick, he first noticed a man sitting by the side of the road, clearly in some distress.
“I noticed a gentleman sitting on a snowbank in the middle of the highway,” Goodman told KUTV News in Salt Lake City. “He was slamming his first in the snow, and making some negative remarks.”
Then Goodman noticed the likely cause of the man’s anger: his vehicle, making a beeline down the highway without him.
KUTV tried to contact the Utah highway patrol for more information.
But due to the large number of incidents caused by yesterday’s storm they were unable to give any info on this incident.
So it’s possible that car may still be on the road.
