Investigators at New York’s LaGuardia Airport have revealed some of the failures that may have contributed to the collision between an Air Canada flight and a fire truck on Sunday night. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) findings, which are preliminary, point to an overlapping series of failures. One of them involves the fire truck, which had been cleared to cross the runway just before the plane touched down. And what's remarkable, given the circumstances of the incident, is that only two people died in the collision – the pilots. They were young men at the start of their careers. On Canada’s East Coast, there are no signs of spring yet in Newfoundland and Labrador. Another snowstorm has hit leaving roads a mess, schools closed, and countless flights either cancelled or delayed. And, amid the war in Iran, Israel's government says it now intends to seize parts of southern Lebanon.
