According to UNICEF, more than 1,300 schools in Ukraine have been destroyed since Russia’s invasion began. So with the Day of Knowledge marking the new school year, millions of students are once again learning online. Those in Kharkiv can also study in the city’s metro system where underground classrooms have been built. Crystal Goomansingh talks with the city’s mayor about what the year ahead could bring.
