Agriculture entomologist discusses discusses Saskatchewan’s grasshopper population problem
Description
July 20, 2023
Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada field crop entomologist Dr. Tyler Wist spoke about challenges posed by growing grasshopper populations in crops on Thursday. Wist said grasshoppers' population growth can be hampered by a wet spring preventing nymphs from maturing. Unfortunately, Saskatchewan has experienced a drier spring which has allowed grasshoppers to thrive.
