One of Montreal’s most storied religious institutions marked two important anniversaries on Sunday at a spirited celebration. Union United Church is Canada’s oldest black congregation. As Dan Spector reports, the church celebrated its 116th birthday, and the 33rd anniversary of when the late South African president Nelson Mandela walked through its doors.
