B.C.’s wildfire season is well underway, Minister of Forests Bruce Ralston said Wednesday, with 86 fires currently burning, the vast majority of which are in the province’s northeast region. Incoming rain and cool weather will help in the short term, but drought conditions will continue to cause challenges to firefighters. He said British Columbians should take precautions and be prepared for a “difficult summer.”
