Saskatoon hospital introduces new support for mitral valve patients

Royal University Hospital’s (RUH) interventional cardiologist Dr. Janine Eckstein reacted to the province’s announcement to expand mitral valve management capabilities on Wednesday. Eckstein said this is a huge improvement for patients because prior to this announcement, patients would have to travel to British Columbia or Ontario for procedures and can now leave the hospital a day after their procedure.
